PRISON MINISTRY

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. Isaiah 61:1

The Prison Ministry at World Victory Church is dedicated to taking the power of God to inmates and causing them to become rooted and grounded in the Word. A strong foundation of Faith, Hope, and Love will prepare them to be vessels of God's glory as they are released into society.

Currently, our team travels to various prisons close to Birmingham, but our main focus has been at Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer, Alabama. This facility is a maximum-security facility, where according to the world’s standard, there is no hope for the men who are incarcerated there. The powerful message of Jesus not only offers the men hope, but also faith in God so they can overcome every attack of fear and depression. Many of the men have been miraculously delivered from homosexuality, drug and nicotine addictions, hatred, un-forgiveness, etc. As they have grown in the Word and developed a relationship with Christ, many of them have realized that they are experiencing more freedom now then when they were on the streets. Who the Son sets free is free indeed!

World Victory Church also supports The Dannon Project, which is a Birmingham based non profit organization that provides re-entry services for nonviolent ex-offenders. Their mission is to help previously incarcerated people successfully return to and remain in the community.
